That was a mistake. A bad mistake.
Because, as so often happens, the ideas for the sequel didn't turn out to be so fruitful as I had hoped, and the sequel never got written. It probably never will get written, either.
Even today, I still receive email asking me about the sequel, and I still have to disappoint these people. There's a lesson in this: Never announce a work until it's finished, or nearly finished.
